I left my house in Santa Fe New Mexico on March 18th and headed for Phoenix. By the time I retruned home on March 28th I had an additional 3,342 miles on my truck!

Day One

On March 20th, my friend Dave flew into Phoenix. I picked him up at 7:30am and we headed west. We stopped in Yuma for groceries and ice and crossed the border at Calexico around 2 in the afternoon. Obtaining tourist cards was easier than I thought! The immigration office was on the left just past the border. We parked and filled out the forms. The bank was about a block away where we paid the 20 dollar fee and went back to the immigratrion office for the final stamp and we were again on our way. We made it to San Felipe around 4pm and we walked around the famous boardwalk and shopping areas there and had some dinner.

We headed south of town to find a place to camp and ended up camping on a deserted beach called Playa Estrella. Most of the beaches south of south have a man there to collect fees and this one was no exception. We paid the 10 bucks, the place was deserted and beautiful!

Miles of deserted sand in either direction!
